Visit of the TSTU delegation

Silesian University of Technology (SUT) has been actively cooperating with Uzbek transport universities over the past 10 years. Agreements on academic cooperation were signed with the Tashkent Institute of Railway Engineers and the Tashkent Automobile and Road Institute. The scientists of these institutes have repeatedly taken part in conferences that were organized in SUT, there were also return visits. Joint research and educational projects were planned. In 2020, Tashkent State Transport University (TSTU) was organized on the basis of these universities. This is a fairly large university with 16.5 thousand students. Initially, it was planned to continue cooperation, but due to the pandemic situation in the world, it was only now possible to organize a meeting of representatives of the two universities. On April 8, the delegation of TSTU visited the Silesian University of Technology. During the visit of TSTU representatives, meetings were organized with the leadership of SUT: Vice-Rectors prof. Marek Pawełczyk, prof. Bogusław Łazarz, Dean of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering Piotr Folęga, prof. of SUT and other leading experts. The guests visited the laboratories of the Faculty of Transport and Aviation Engineering. A plan for further cooperation was outlined, which involves the signing of relevant agreements between universities, the possibility of double diplomas for TSTU students, organization and participation in scientific conferences, joint projects, and many other areas of joint activity.
