Conferences in Kutaisi2019-10-23
In October 2019, two conferences were held in Kutaisi (Georgia), thematically related to transport issues. A delegation of the Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology took part in these conferences. These conferences were held under the auspices of Kutaisi State University named after Akaki Tsereteli. Silesian Technical University was a co-organizer of the 5th Georgian - Polish International Scientific Conference "Transport Bridge Europe - Asia". This conference, despite its name, has long become multinational. In particular, the reports of this conference were presented by scientists from Georgia, Poland, Latvia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Lithuania, Kazakhstan and Israel.

During the conference, meetings of representatives of delegations from various countries with the leadership of Kutaisi State University named after Akaki Tsereteli took place. The issues of international cooperation in the field of science and higher education were discussed. The issues of signing an agreement on academic cooperation between Kutaisi State University and Silesian University of Technology were agreed.

No less interesting was the scientific and technical conference “Problems of Accessibility of Disabled Persons in Civil Infrastructure and Development Prospects”. This conference was held at the King David Hotel. It was noted here that the development of new technical solutions for such people is a very important issue, since even in Kutaisi there are about 6800 people with varying degrees of disability.

Foreign participants of the conferences had a great opportunity to get acquainted with the history and culture of a number of regions of Georgia. The conference organizers provided an opportunity for guests to visit Borjomi, Akhaltsikhe, Sairme, Tskhaltubo and a number of other interesting places in Georgia.
