The visit to Lithuania

17-20 of September 2013 prof. A. Sładkowski visited Lithuania. The purpose of the trip was participation of the Faculty of Transport in the BALRAIL project. This is joint proposal from the four Baltic Countries (Poland, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) to create a link between ex USSR Signaling and Train Control System with new European ERTMS/ETCS Train Management System.

During the trip prof. A. Sładkowski met with the leadership of the Faculty of Transport Engineering of Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, Faculty of Telecommunications and Electronics of Kaunas University of Technology, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics of Kaunas University of Technology, Faculty of Railway Transport of Vilnius College of Technologies and Design. Meetings were also held with the leadership of the Lithuanian Railway and the editors-in-chief of journals "Transport", "Mechanics" and "Electronics and Electrical Engineering."
