Second International Conference on Problems of Logistics, Management and Operation in the East-West Transport Corridor (PLMO)
The Silesian University of Technology (SUT) is a co-organizer of the International Conference on Logistics, Management, and Operations in the East-West Transport Corridor (PLMO). This conference has become cyclical, and for the second time, it was held in Baku under the auspices of the Institute of Control Systems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Polish delegation was represented by professors from the Silesian and Koszalin Technical Universities, as well as the Maritime University of Szczecin. Prof. Aleksander Sładkowski made a welcoming speech at the plenary session on behalf of the Polish delegation. He also was the co-chair of the Conference Program Committee. He also made a presentation "International cooperation in the field of education of future transport engineers".

At the sectional meeting, prof. Janusz Ćwiek made a presentation „Assessment of wear of tram wheels”. The meetings were also attended by researchers and specialists from Azerbaijan, China, Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Switzerland, Ukraine, and several other countries.

In addition to the conference sessions, prof. A. Sładkowski held several meetings with the leadership of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Control Systems and the Institute of Information Technologies of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It is planned that cooperation agreements with SUT will be signed with these institutes.
