Summer School RailNewcastle

From 23 of July till 11 of July 2014 the Silesian University of Technology for the second time took part in the Summer School RailNewcastle. Students from 10 countries studied at Newcastle University. In the first week students attended thematic lectures by around 20 professors from various universities. In the second week all students were divided into 12 international teams, each of which was preparing a report on a specific topic under the guidance of leading professors. The third week was devoted to the preparation of relevant articles and presentations. This week students were able to visit the Tyne and Wear Metro Depot, Port of Tyne, as well as participate in the Tour of Newcastle with a railway-flavour. Silesian University of Technology represented six students of the Faculty of Transport. Scientific management of student groups, as well as thematic lectures were conducted by prof. Aleksander Sładkowski and dr. Maria Cieśla.
