Visit to Azerbaijan
At the end of October 2021, an International Conference "Problems of Logistics, Management and Operation in the East-West Transport Corridor" was held in Baku in a hybrid mode (online + offline). Its main organizers were the Institute of Control Systems of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS) and also Silesian, Azerbaijan and Georgian Technical Universities. This conference brought together scientists from 16 countries. Its main goal was to bring together researchers and relevant representatives of the public, private sector, universities and international organizations to discuss scientific and practical issues such as problems with transporting goods by different modes of transport and others. As a result of the conference, it can be argued that the set goals have been achieved, and the conference itself has the potential to become cyclical.

In addition to participating in the conference, prof. Aleksander Sładkowski, as the Rector’s Plenipotentiary of the Silesian University of Technology for Cooperation with the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia, visited a number of leading Baku universities, where issues of joint training of students and PhD students were discussed with the leadership of these organizations. In particular, meetings were held with the rector of the Baku Higher Oil School prof. Elmar Gasimov, rector of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction prof. Gulchohra Mammadova, rector of the Azerbaijan Technical University prof. Vilayat Valiyev. Very interesting discussions were also held at the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, where issues of joint scientific research were discussed.
