Presentation of the state award of Poland
In September 2022 prof. A. Sładkowski received a letter from the Office of the President, in which Secretary of State Andrzej Dera informed that President of Poland Andrzej Duda had conferred on the professor a high state award - the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta. This award was given for outstanding achievements in research and teaching.

Unfortunately, the pandemic situation in Europe, as well as political complications related to the current crisis around Ukraine, did not allow the President to present an award to prof. A. Sładkowski, as well as other honored figures of science, education, art, industry and other branches of public life earlier. At present, the President, performing important duties, being on a visit to Egypt, could not personally present the awards. This honorable duty was entrusted to the Chief of the Cabinet of the President of Poland Paweł Szrot. On May 30, 2022, all those previously awarded were invited to the Presidential Palace in Warsaw, where state awards were presented to them in a solemn atmosphere.
