On behalf of the organizers, the participants were welcomed by Chancellor of the University of Warsaw Robert Gray. Then, professor Arkadiusz Mężyk, who organized such meetings in previous years in Poland and Uzbekistan, made a report. The current crisis associated with issuing Polish visas for Uzbek students was also noted.
The report is delivered by the Honorary Chairman of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP), prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk
This speech by the former rector of the Silesian University of Technology echoed the exposé of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski, which was presented in the Sejm on the same day and which noted Poland's interest in providing educational services to students from other countries. At the same time, the minister noted that Polish visas should be received only by real students, not pseudo-students. Thus, it should be expected that the requirement of good knowledge of the language of instruction will be mandatory for future students from Uzbekistan who want to receive a Polish diploma after successfully completing their university studies.
After the plenary session, the participants were divided into 2 parallel sections for representatives of classical universities and specialized higher education institutions. Each representative of the educational institution had the opportunity to briefly inform about the areas of educational training of students at their university. In particular, the presentation of the Silesian University of Technology was given by the Vice-Rector for Science and International Cooperation, prof. Sebastian Werle.
