Forum of Transport Scientists at the Silesian Technical University
30.06.2017 the next International Conference which is held at the Faculty of Transport in the cycle "Transport Problems" was finished. 26-27 of June the Sixth International Symposium of Young Scientists was carried out and then 28-30 of June the main part of the Conference - the Ninth Conference of this cycle was held. At the Conference and Symposium was participated over 250 specialists from 21 countries, at the same time, about 110 participants from the USA, China, Italy, Germany, Bulgaria, Georgia, Uzbekistan and many other countries came to Poland directly.
Participants of the Symposium had the opportunity, in addition to communicating during meetings to get acquainted with the Silesian region, visiting a number of places of interest in the cities of Katowice and Tychy. In particular, the participants of the Symposium were interested in the production of cars at the factory of the Fiat Chrysler Automotive Group (FCA) in Tychy, where one of the largest car production in the world is concentrated.

The main part of the conference was abroad of Silesian region. Participants after the plenary session left for one of the most interesting historical places in Poland, which is the city of Sulejów. Guests participated in meetings and lived in a hotel on the territory of an ancient monastery of the 12th century. These buildings saw in their walls many Polish kings and eminent personalities. Despite such a respectable age of buildings, the modern hotel was sufficiently adapted for holding meetings that took place in three parallel sections. The conference ended with the round table discussions, at which the idea of creating the International Transport Academy was discussed.

The guests of the conference had an opportunity to get acquainted with the points of interest in Poland on the example of the city of Lodz, which united in its history several national and religious cultures. The conference participants also visited the open pit for the mining of brown coals in Belchatow, which is a unique object in terms of the used technologies and the largest quarry of this type in Europe.
