Participation of the Faculty of Transport in the CEEPUS program
The Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology has been actively involved in the CEEPUS program for many years. This program provides the mobility of students and teachers in Central European countries in the frames of various projects. In particular, in 2011-2015, it was participation in the project TransLog4ComAd (Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Development for Achieving Sustainable Competitive Advantage). Since 2017, the faculty has been involved in the project FINALIST (Fostering sustainable partnership between academia and industry in improving applicability of logistics thinking). If we talk about the current academic year, already implemented visits of prof. Aleksander Sładkowski to the University of Szeged (Hungary), Polytechnic Timisoara (Romania), Maritime University of Constanta (Romania), of dr. Maria Cieśla to the University of Pardubice (Czech Republic), as well as of prof. Jacek Mendala to the Technical University of Kosice (Slovakia). In the near future will take place the visit of dr. Damian Gąska to the University of Novi Sad (Serbia).
In particular, in Szeged prof. A. Sładkowski in addition to lectures for students, participated in the International Week of the CEEPUS program, in which representatives of universities from Portugal, Romania, Serbia and Poland also participated.

A good tradition of the CEEPUS program is to organize visits to various specialized enterprises for its participants. For example, in Szeged prof. A. Sładkowski visited the trolleybus depot, which also serves the bus transport. An essential feature of Szeged’s transport is the use of alternative ecological transport. In Timisoara prof. A. Sładkowski was able to visit two modern factories whose products are widely used in the transport industry: Heraeus Romania SRL and Continental Automotive Romania.

In Constanta prof. A. Sładkowski visited the largest port on the Black Sea, and also had the opportunity to participate in the Black Sea Maritime Cyber Security International Conference.

Since 2018, the Silesian Technical University is also involved in the project AutoAuto (Autonomous Vehicles Universities). Within the framework of this project, prof. A. Sładkowski visited Budapest University of Technology and Economics. During the visit, there were numerous meetings with teachers and scientists of the Faculty of Transportation Engineering and Vehicle Engineering.

The above projects involve not only the departure of employees of the Silesian University of Technology, but also the visits of teachers and students from other universities to Katowice. In particular, within the framework of the FINALIST project at the Faculty of Transport, the student of the University of Belgrade Milovan Kovač had a monthly internship, lectures for students were conducted by dr. Tatjana Grbic and Slavica Medic from the University of Novi Sad, prof. Marian Mocan, dean of the Faculty of Management in Production and Transportation of Polytechnic Timisoara. For these colleagues were also organized visits to the faculty laboratories, as well as excursions to our region.
