The implementation of the SmaLog project in the first half of 2019
The Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology is a member of the SmaLog project, which is carried out as part of the European program ERASMUS+ KA2. The objective of this project is the development of training programs for students of a number of Ukrainian and Georgian universities, the training of their teachers based on European experience, and the training of their students at European universities. Within the framework of this project, a number of additional tasks are being solved, for example, purchasing equipment for laboratories of Ukrainian and Georgian universities, buying computers, writing and printing textbooks, etc. An integral part of this project is SMS (special mobility strand). This subprogram envisages two-week visits of teachers from European universities to Ukrainian and Georgian colleagues with open lectures, one-and-half-month internships for Ukrainian and Georgian teachers in European universities, and three-month or semester internships for Ukrainian and Georgian students.
In accordance with the above, in the first half of 2019 prof. Aleksander Sładkowski visited the State University "Zhytomyr Polytechnic" and the National University "Lviv Polytechnic", where he held a series of lectures on modern problems of logistics.

It is also planned that by the end of 2019 another 7 mobility of teachers of the Faculty of Transport to Ukraine and Georgia should take place.
Currently, 8 teachers from Ukrainian universities (Kiev, Kharkov, Lviv, Zhytomyr) and 2 teachers from the Georgian university (Batumi) are undergoing a 1.5-month internship at the Faculty of Transport of the Silesian University of Technology. An individual training program has also been prepared for students from Ukraine and Georgia, who will arrive to the Faculty of Transport in the 2019/2020 academic year.
The above activities in the framework of the SmaLog project made it possible to successfully report on the implementation of the SMS sub-program at the coordination meeting, which was held from 8 to 11 May 2019 at the University of Rome La Sapienza. The Silesian University of Technology was represented at this meeting by the coordinator from the Polish side, prof. A. Sładkowski.
